✨ Magical Rodeo Week ✨

It was a busy, but fun and (✨MAGICAL✨ ) Rodeo Week for Mi Reina Mobile Boutique.  We were busy from the moment we landed at the Tucson Airport, until the minute we flew back into the Los Angeles clouds.  We would like to highlight and thank all those involved in making our festivities come to life! Mi Reina Mobile Boutique was in the local newspaper, radio stations and in the streets of Tucson!  If you haven’t had a chance to read our article, make sure you check it out. THANK YOU to Carmen Duarte, reporter at the Arizona Daily Star for sharing Mi Reina’s #herstory, #ourstory and for launching our Rodeo Week!

Besides being featured in the Arizona Daily Star, we were so excited to have our first ever on-air (live) radio play  with not one, but TWO local radio stations! On Wednesday, February 22, Mi Reina Mobile Boutique made our first visit with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s Radio Station: KPYT – LP 100.3 FM.  This was actually my dad’s first time driving the 1957 Chevrolet Truck.  Although it was only a 3 minute drive to the station, we were so anxious!  It was an honor to be on-air with The Voice of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. KPYT-LPFM  began broadcasting on June 21, 2005. Shortly thereafter, a survey was circulated via the Tribal Governments’ Intranet to determine station programming. Response to the survey prompted management to program the following music genres: Tejano, Yaqui music (folk and Paskola), Old Skool, Oldies, and Classic Rock. Other music genres have been added to the original format. Airing Public Service Announcements is an important part of KPYT-LP’s programming, as are the various departmental radio shows, such as; The Diabetes Prevention Program, Club House Radio, The Education Hour, Vahi Vo’om Hiawai (entirely in the Hiaki language), The Sewa Uusim Radio Show, and Tribal Legacies. Some of the other programs include, The More Variety Morning Show, The Backyard Jam, Country Jubilee, En Concierto, The Snake Break and The Classic Rock Block.  If you are in the area, make sure to tune in and support the station. We hope to be back and collaborate more with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and host a pop-up on the reservation in the near future (fingers crossed)! Special THANK YOU to our buddy, Gabriel Otero, Program Coordinator with KPYT-LP  for having us on! You rock!

To officially kick off Rodeo Week (Vacation) , we hosted our first ever Rodeo Glam Night on Wednesday night.  We collaborated with Marcy – The Aesthetician (waxing and chemical peels) and Express Manicures with Carmen.  Those in attendance had the opportunity to experience a private shopping and beauty bar in a relaxed setting. Light bites and drinks were served. Thank you to everyone who helped make our glam night a special one. We appreciate each and everyone of you!

On Thursday, February 23, Mi Reina Mobile Boutique and Viva Performing Arts Center proudly presented the Viva Rodeo Pop-Up! We would like to THANK Viva Performing Arts Center and Owner & Director, Julie Gonzalez Gallego for being such great co-sponsors! Thank you Julie for your support! Already looking forward to our future pop-up’s together!

Our pop-up was from 7 am- 1 pm and hundreds were in attendance to experience the festive event.  We would like to thank Melissa Santa Cruz & Tejano 1600 for supporting our event each year.  Mi Reina Mobile Boutique would especially like to send a special saludo to Melissa and Tejano 1600 (which is one of my favorite stations to listen to when I am in Tucson).  We were featured live on Tejano 1600 and loved every second! Thanks prima! ♥ And thank you for playing the cumbias all day long.

Thank you to all our special vendors Ace Designs, Sol Design Studio, Americano Mexicano, Bella’s Gelato Shoppe, Dad’s Smokehouse BBQ, Kettlelicious Kettle Corn, Pueblo High School MEChA, Shaved Ice Saloon, and Pueblo Cheerleaders Booster Club. Thanks to our special guest,  professional Real Time Pain Relief bull rider, Bobby Rodriguez for hosting a Meet & Greet session.  Also, thank you to Adrian Virgen and Marcos Contreras for the kid’s corner practice (roping) area! Thanks to all our entertainers-Mariachi Sensacional, Ballet Folklorico San Juan and the G-Dollz hip hop Team! We loved seeing both old and new friends!

Thank YOU for stopping by our VIVA RODEO POP-UP!!! It was a beautiful day at Viva Performing Arts Center. Now, stay tuned for the next pop-up! 🐴
